I currently use "Netzip" and "Download Demon" to download zip files
etc. from the web.
Has anyone else had a problem with the "import" function
finding/recognising the datafiles?
I notice that Netzip stores the file in a zip folder which Army
builder recognises but when I open it, it can't find any data files.
Is this a known problem and is there a work around?
I have tried zipping up the files again but then AB says it's not a
valid file.

Thanks
David

I'm not sure I understand the problem. AB will import Zip files that are
created using the ABExport tool. Files created by ABExport have some
additional info in them, beyond a normal Zip file. You should NOT open the
Zip file outside of AB. Instead, point to the Zip file from within the
dialog shown when you click on "Import Files". AB should open up the Zip
file and present you with a list of the contents, asking you to confirm
import. After the import is complete, the data files should be available
for selection. If the import is successful and you are not seeing the files
appear, then you most likely have more than one copy of AB installed on
your machine - in separate places.

If the above doesn't help solve your difficulty, you'll need to clarify
what is going on in more detail.

Hope this helps,
Rob

How do you create a zip file so it can just be imported into armybuilder
using the Import fuction. Do you have to have the zip file created?. I
tried the ABexport thing and I can't get it to work.

You need a line like:
abexport fred.zip -c"Insert comment here" file1.ext file2.ext file3.ext

You may need to specify data\file?.ext if you're running the program from
the Army Builder directory.

Russell.

Best solution is to not bother to use those progs for downloading such small
files.

Thanks for that (very) quick reply.
You were quite correct. Netzip has a "special" folders option under
tools/options/folders which, once turned off, put everything back they way
it was. I should have thought of it, but trees & woods etc.
Again, thanks

Regards
David Shead
