Importing new supplments into existing hero

Hi, new to the forum. Sorry if this sounds like a newbee question but I bought a bunch of the supplements for Shadowrun but they do not show up on existing hero portfolios when I open them up. How do you solve this issue?
 
In the character menu, choose Configure Hero, and make sure all the books you want to use are turned on for that character. They are not always turned on if you created the character before you purchased those packages.
