There are a number of important things to report that have been going
on here during the past few weeks. I'm about to fall asleep at my
desk from lack of sleep, so I'm going to keep this short and fill
everyone in further tomorrow. Here goes...
1. Earlier today, we sent a master CD to production. This CD contains
a special preview of the upcoming Hero Lab data files for White
Wolf's World of Darkness line of RPGs. The CDs will be made available
as part of the Free RPG Day event that is occurring on June 23rd. For
more details on Free RPG Day, please see their website at
www.freerpgday.com. The completed data files should be available in
either July or August.
2. We've just released a new V1.1e update of Hero Lab that can be
downloaded via the usual methods. I'll be posting a complete release
announcement tomorrow after I get some sleep. There have been various
performance improvements, minor enhancements, and bug fixes. We've
been focused on getting the World of Darkness data files into shape,
so this update doesn't include a lot for the d20 System. See the next
item below.
3. Another substantial update for the d20 System is planned for the
end of next week. Now that the World of Darkness preview is off to
production, we'll be focusing on many of the d20 System enhancements
that are on our todo list, many of which have been discussed here on
the forums.
4. An updated version of the PDF plug-in was released tonight. This
new version includes greater flexibility for dynamically changing
resources (e.g. changing game systems with radically different visual
elements). You'll need to grab this new version to utilize PDF output
within V1.1e of Hero Lab.
5. Colen put together a pair of introductory videos for Hero Lab.
These videos walk the viewer through all of the major features of the
product. If you or a friend are intrigued by Hero Lab, but don't have
the time to take the product for a personal test drive, these videos
are the perfect way to learn what Hero Lab offers!
Those are the key items. We're going to be getting caught up on the
forums over the next few days. Thanks for everyone's patience while
we've been working feverishly to get the World of Darkness preview ready.
