If i create a char with a custom feat/spell etc can i share that char with my GM?

My GM has hero lab and it looks great so i'm thinking of getting it myself.

One thing i was wondering, if I create a custom feat/spell/trait for my character, can i export that character to the GM (email a file to him) and will that custom feat show up and work properly on his copy of hero labs? Or will he need to create the same custom feat for him to be able to load up my character file?
 
You will need to review how to create a .user file you can e-mail to your GM. If you can't find it, someone here will follow up my reply with a link to the instructions.

So that will create a file with my custom content? Can the GM import them in addition to his custom created content or will it overwrite any custom content he had created?
