How to update new data?

Sakri

Member
I downloaded the new data update for 4e when Hero Lab prompted me to do so. However, I do not see any new data in the program even after restarting it. Do I have to run the ddidownloader.exe again to use the newest data? It takes hours to run :(.

From what I understand, downloads from Hero Lab update the program to be able to support new data and mechanics, but you need to provide the data yourself through the ddidownloader. They can't provide that stuff to you because it's not theirs to give.

Sakri,
you will need to run the downloader every time there is a change to the DDI information, and you may need to update Hero Lab files to fix any changes to the material so that it converts and loads properly.

Koranak and SAbel are correct. The only way to incorporate new DDI data into Hero Lab is by re-running the downloader - since it takes a few hours, I find the best way to do it is to just run it overnight when I amn't otherwise using the computer.

Hope this helps!
