How to transfer money?

Hi All.

My character has a mount, and is in the habit of putting all non-essentials in the mount's saddlebags. He has earned about 6,000 gold pieces, which he would like to give to the mount.

How do I do that in HeroLab? I can drop it to the ground, but then my only option is to transfer it back to my Hero.

If you have the mount as part of the character portfolio, when you right click on the small bag by the gold, it should give you an option to transfer to mount.

The mount is part of the portfolio. I can transfer other things to it, but not money. For example, I go into the "Gear" tab, click the small bag next to "Holy Symbol, Silver" and I get the option "Give to hero:" and I can select my hose.

When I go down to "Money" and click the bag, I only have the options "Hero" and "Dropped to ground."

I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Help!

Also, what if I only want to transfer some of the money to the horse? How do I do that?

Here's what I do:

I used the Editor tool to create a User file with Gold Piece, Silver Piece, Copper Piece, and Platinum Piece gear. Then I just buy and sell them at 100% value as needed, and transfer them between PCs and containers.

The benefits I see are:
easily transfer money
Store money in specific places
separate newly-gained treasure from the money the PCs have at the start of the adventure
and-- it is good practice on getting to know the editor tool
 
Until we get a proper money transfer system working, the standard ways to transfer money are to use the journal tab - subtract from one character and add to the other, or purchase the "-Custom Valuable-" item for the correct amount on one character, swap that item, and sell it on the other character for the correct amount.
