How to get custom file to show up as source

I have downloades a number of files for pathfinder, and they all show up as custom sources, but the custom file sources that I have created do not show up. THey are in the correct directory (with the other pathfinder sources). Is there something I have to do with the file to get it to show up as a custom source?

"Test now" puts it in the system, but the user file still does not show up as a selectable "User Content" like the other user files do.

For isntance i have a number of user files others have made, and they are selectable under user content, but the user files that I have made do not.

I want to be able to easily put the user content I develop on to my laptop which has my secondaty lisenced proigram

Okay, back to basics. There's a difference between the file (as windows sees it) and the sources that are defined in Hero Lab, and I think we're discussing different things using the same terminology.

Go into the editor, to one of the things you've created.

The very last option will be "Sources" - press that, and then select "Create New Source"

Now, use "Test Now!" on the thing you've created.

Does the source you've added show up in the list of sources now?

Now go back to the editor, and for everything else you've created, assign it to your new source.

If you don't define one or more sources for a thing, it will be available to all characters.

Yah, I realized I saw that on the options, but thought that the source had to be defined before you can use it. Figured it out, but thanks much for the answer, you are very helpful.
