How to apply the armor spell without encumbrance penalties

So I figured out how to use the temporary adjustments. The problem is when you use these to simulate an armor spell it adds encumbrance to the character.
Is there a way to do this without adding the encumbrance?

When you added the Armor adjustment, which of your armors did you select to improve - you should select something that's not counting towards encumbrance to begin with - a base armor, rather than adding the armor bonus to something like a helmet or shield or form-fitting armor or securetech PPP - those are all things that contribute to encumbrance, so if you add the increase to them, you'll increase the amount they add to encumbrance.

If your character only uses magic, and no other armors, add Clothing, so that the adjustment has something to target.
