How do you NOT advance an 4th/7th level Animal Companion?

Wondering how you can choose to add +2 Dex/+2 Con instead of advancing an Animal Companion when they are 4th/7th?

Or perhaps someone knows a work around?
 
On the Adjust tab, in the Other Adjustments option, you should be able to assemble a set of adjustments that erases the normal benefit and grants the alternate benefit.
