How do you handle XP?

Hi team,

Just looking for input on how you all handle XP at the table.

I'm using Realm Works and Hero Labs to run 98% of the game. It's been months since I have had to open a book with the exception of checking XP values for killed mobs.

To my knowledge, HL does not track XP and the monster stats don't include XP anywhere. I'm thinking of just listing them in the monster entries in RW but just curious to see if anyone has a better way.

I don't base the xp i give off of anything WotC writes I generally have a number i have in mind when i start a night if encounters end up being easier or harder i adjust the XP up or down, but i never rely on the book to tell me what my players should be given and after weekly play for two years they are halfway to sixth level. We as a group adjusted the xp needed per level because WotC's idea was like a sad joke to us

As for herolab not tracking xp that's in then journal section and there is an experience point mechanic and monsters list there exp beside their CR in the Class section

Bingo, thanks Dervish.

I've managed to miss that for the last 6 months.

Individual XP > Monster > Classes tab > CR > XP
Total XP for Monsters > Dashboard (on right) > Enemies > CR > XP
