How do I add an animal companion to my character?

Hello all,

So my DM let me tame a wolf last session :D. But I can't find a way to add that wolf to my character sheet in the program. How does one add that tamed beastie to their character?

Are you a Beast Master Ranger, or just a rando who tamed a wolf? For the latter, I believe you need to go to the gear tab and go down to something close to "Add Hirelings/Minions/Mounts." I don't remember the exact wording but it's there.

Let me know if that's not right and I'll dig around for the right answer on my lunch break.

I'm a lvl 2 ranger atm. When I added that companion, it just asked for a source and an amount of time. Both of which were text boxes. There was no info on health, attack dice, ect.

I just double checked and didn't have any issues with it, so I'm not sure what's going on. Do you have the community pack downloaded and installed, and all the main books checked in your hero's configuration menu?

I went Gear Tab > add new mounts or hirelings. It opened up a menu to select a creature, and wolf was on there. I selected it and a wolf was then available on the right side of the window as another Hero within the portfolio.

If you're getting it as a Beast Master feature, you won't see it until level 3 (when you're supposed to get your companion). The moment you hit level 3, the companion will be added to the portfolio just like the hireling above. You select it then go to the Race tab and select what kind of animal it is.

Wait, thats under the gear tab? I didn't see that under there. But I'll have to check again, when I get home.

I had to go to the adjustments tab, and add a companion there.

My DM might just force me down the Beastmaster route, because of this pet. But I'm ok with that. Right now, its just a pet, that I can use in combat.

Edit: That was my mistake. Turns out I didn't download the community pack. The moment I did download it, I was able to add my new pet.

Thanks for the help!
