House Rules

I just got Hero Lab.
Is there a way to Save Settings for House Rules (as with the Rules for Pathfinder Society)?

Can you elaborate more as I don't really get what your asking....

Assuming you mean the settings in the "Configure Your Hero" window you can do one of two ways:
1) Set your settings and press "Set Defaults" button.
2) You can Set your settings and save the portfolio to act as a sort of template. Then you could open that .por file and do a Save As. This is what I do for my players so that they start with all the right settings for a new campaign.

I think what quasijoe is asking is "Is there a simple way to set up houserules like the PFS settings are implemented in HeroLab?"

Assuming that's the question, the answer is "no".
PFS is a big enough organization.. the house rules are shared over hundreds (perhaps thousands) of users of HeroLab... that they are worth building in (or at least adding some flags to say "this is not allowed for PFS").

Some other house rules are common enough that they are included, as well (for example, "Coins have no weight", or "Don't use Encumbrance").

Other House Rules *can* be implemented, but there's a learning curve. It is not just a matter of checking off a box in the Configure Your Hero dialog. Someone has to use the Editor to create some files representing them. There are some very good videos in ShadowChemosh's signature, above, and there are some tutorial threads here in the forums talking about the finer points.

Is that more what you're asking, quasijoe?

The Hard Way Then

That does answer my question.
Too bad there is not a House Rules Switch, but I can work within the system to make it work.
Thanks for the help.
