Hi everyone,
We just released a new version of Hero Lab, v2.3a, and a new version of the M&M data files to go with it. Start Hero Lab and check for updates, and you should see them in the list to download.
Here's the list of changes in this version of the M&M data files:
Enhancements & Changes
* Mastermind's Manual content: Added Hit Points, Power Surges drawback and Graded Language Ranks.
* Statblock output now includes a breakdown of the PP spent by the hero in each category (feats, powers, etc).
* In the editor, strength-based Skills can now specify whether they are exempt from the effects of powers like Growth and Density.
* The "(Strength Bonus) Strike" power now acts more like the regular Strike power, and can now be modified the same way.
* Added a "(Saving Throw) Protection" power that allows you to add Protection extras to your saving throws.
* Added an "Aura, Permanent" power extra.
* Added the "Extended (Type)" power option to super senses, costing 2 points.
* The Weather Control power can now pick multiple types of weather to control.
* Added "Mix-and-match" options to Environmental Control and Weather Control.
* You can now add an adjustment to increase your base Hero Points.
* Added an optional rule to omit the "Power Feats:", "Extras:" etc prefixes from the power summary. For example, instead of "Power Feats: Mighty, Extras: Penetrating" the summary would simply say "Mighty, Penetrating".
* The "Psionic" sample character no longer has the "Selective" power feat on his Illusion power; he has "Selective Attack" instead.
Bug Fixes
* Powers with partial ranks of extras / flaws and a cost of less than 1 PP / rank should now have their cost calculated correctly.
* Hero Lab no longer marks saves as "Immune" if you take Immunity to them with the "Half Effect" flaw.
* When the Proficiency rules are in use, you are always proficient with unarmed attacks.
* When the Proficiency rules are in use, grenades are now covered under the "Simple Weapons Proficiency" feat.
* Explosives no longer show an attack bonus, because they use a skill check to be placed (not an attack).
* General area attacks no longer show an attack bonus, because they automatically hit everyone in the area.
* Linked powers should now display correctly on the printout when they're children of inactive devices.
* Bows, Shurikens, Crossbows, Javelins and Tasers are now the correct type.
* The "Alternate Save" and "Additional Save" extras no longer cause unexpected errors when they interact.
* Perception range powers and general area powers now "count as" having an attack bonus equal to the power level. This prohibits someone with a low attack bonus taking perception range powers and then "trading off" for extremely high damage.
* The Invisibility power now requires you to select 2 or 4 ranks, and the cost of extras / flaws is now calculated correctly.
* The Deflect power now has different options under the Ultimate Power rules.
* Taking the Accurate power feat for an Array no longer increases the maximum cost of any alternate powers, since it gives its accuracy bonus to all child powers already.
* Removed extraneous [/b] at the start of BBCode summary output.
* The Attack Bonus adjustment now improves Ranged and Melee attack bonus.
* On the printout, saving throws now display temporary bonuses (for example, from the Enhanced Trait power) in the "Misc" column.
* In Power Sets (for example alternate forms), the full name of the power (including any user-specified name) is now shown.
* Several Perception-range powers (including mind control) are now correctly marked as attacks.
Enjoy! Please post any bug reports in new threads - this makes it easier for me to keep track of them.
Thanks!
