High Elves bug?

I've tried several times, and I dont know if Im wrong or the AB is...

The problem its that when I try to give a hero several pices of
armor, like the helm of fortune, the dragon shield and the armour of
shadows as far as I know this can be posible specially because the
dragon shield and the helm of fortune on their description says it
can be combined with other pises of armour.

Well when I take any of the pices the others disappear leaving only
the enchanted shield. I already checked if the allow armour and
allow shield are disabled so I dont undestand.

Does that mean that the high elves can only take a piece of armour
from their own armoury or its a bug?

I don't have my High Elf book with me, but I have a feeling those magic
items can be combined with mundane armour normally, but not magical armour
(like the enchanted shield can). Remember you are only allowed one item
from each category so unless the items specifically state otherwise, you
can only take one item of magical armour. I will double check at home
tonight just in case you are correct though.

The book states that those items may be "combined with other
equipment normally," which I feel is a deliberately misleading
statement that should be either excised from future editions of the
book, or corrected to "other mundane equipment." It leads one to
assume that it can be combined with other magic armor (since it goes
out of the way to mention combining items) but the use of the
word "normally" should, knowing GW, be read to mean that the whole
sentence is nothing but useless reminder text.

The Red Tome states that "A character can only have one magic item of
each type (weapon, armour, etc) unless otherwise indicated," which
would be the "normal" state of things, but since they bring it up so
cryptically, it can appear at a glance to be an "otherwise
indication."
