Hiding and Precluding elements

This may have gotten lost in my putting it in a follow-up to my post below, so I thought I'd put it up again.

I'm thinking there's something I don't understand about how to hide and/or preclude skills.

In a data file I'm working on for a Savage Worlds , I want to remove access to the whole Arcane Edge set (there are powers in the world but they're bought as straight Edges of their own, not as SW conventionally handles such things).

I've tried to go in and Hide the various Edges, but I get an error message that those successive edges dependent on the other ones need those prior edges--and I get that error when I Hide those edges themselves. The one experiment I did with Preclude seemed to be trying to create the same problem.

So how do I make these unavailable?

Unfortunately, Hidden and Preclude are currently limited in some ways (you ran into the biggest limitation).

That's on our to-do list to overcome, but in the meantime, I think I'd create a mechanic with the source you're using that has an eval rule that looks for all the invalid options, and complains if any of them are added to a character.
