Hero Lab just shuts down after a few seconds

I am running iOS 8.1 on my iPad Air. After upgrading to the new 10.5 version of HeroLab anytime I try to launch the app it just shuts down after a few seconds. No error messages, it just shuts down.

I have tried the following steps to try and resolve it:
1) Uninstalled HeroLab
2) Reinstalled HeroLab (Apple store has 10.1 version), but without installing the 10.5 version
3) HeroLab works perfectly fine at this point with no issues. I can activate my license with no problems and the app does not shut down at all.
4) I reboot my iPad just to make sure and HeroLab continues to work with no problem.
5) I update to HeroLab 10.5 and then the app just starts shutting down.
6) I power off and power up my iPad.
7) I launch HeroLab and it still continues to just shut down after about 4 seconds.

As a note, all of my other apps are working fine on iOS 8.1 as I have been on 8.1 for at least a few days now.

Any help or am I going to have to wait for a patch from Herolab?

Make sure HL is the only app running (close everything else); HL is memory- and CPU-intensive, and often, the iPad's way of telling you it can't handle an app is to shut it down.

I have already tried that and its the only application running and it still dies after 4 seconds. :(

Just to show I know how to shut down other apps from the background I double tab the "home" button on the iPad, which lets me see all of the apps currently running. I then touch their screen image and slide it up to the top which will shut down that app from running in the background.

I know I have a problem with my portfolio not loading on the iPad version, since the portfolio contains 7-8 characters. Perhaps your portfolio size is close to the limit for 10.4 and exceeds the limit for 10.5

ShadowChemosh - I have already submitted a bug report for this as of yesterday morning but don't expect a reply back. This post was mostly to warn others of the issue and see, on the off chance, that someone might have encountered this and have a resolution for me.

Farling - It shuts downs even if I do not try to open a portfolio so to me that indicates its something else, also, also only the current default portfolios are on the device as it won't stay running long enough for me to load in my custom ones.

Just sit back and wait is the game at this point.
