Hero Lab Editor gives errors

I am trying to create a Kua-toa for my home game. I used the Hero Lab Editor to create a Race, and I entered all the information that I need for the creature. When I click the test now I get the error:

Syntax error in 'eval' script for Thing 'xRMnkFlrrB' (Eval Script '#2') on line 20
-> Non-existent thing 'fCripCrit' referenced by script

I read this refers to the Racial Furry of Blows from the Advanced Player's Guide which I do not own. I don't plan to use this source, so how do I add my creature? After I add it, how do I import it to a portfolio?

I just got Hero Lab a couple days ago. Thanks for any help.

This error is not because I added a race. I get it every time I launch Hero Lab since I installed the Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition AP. When I first installed it, I got errors because I didn't own the Bestiaries. I bought those. I don't plan on buying the Advanced Player's Guide (at least not right away). Is there a way to remove this error?

Do you mean you installed the Community Bestiary? I assume so as its the only place I know of that has the RotRL AP that would require being installed.

If so I am sorry to say it requires "Advanced Players Guide, Bestiary 1, Bestiary 2, Bestiary 3, Ultimate Combat, and Ultimate Magic" to load correctly. So until then NO .user files will load including your own.

So either its A) Buy the missing packages or B) remove the CB. To do B go to "Tools->Manage Third Party Updates" and select "Community Bestiary" and delete it. :(

Yes, it was the community bestiary.

I have two campaigns I am preparing. One is The Sinister Spire which is a 3.5 to Pathfinder conversion. I need my custom Kua-toa for that, but I don't need the RotRL AP.

The other is the RotRL AP. I need the community bestiary for it, but I don't need my custom Kua-toa.

Can I easily load/unload the community bestiary while I work with Sinister Spire portfolios and load it back when I work with RotRL portfolios? I am thinking of character configuration where you can select which sources to use.

Thanks for the help. I have only been working with Hero Lab for a weekend, and I am still learning how all this stuff works.

You can create a duplicate of the game system and load whatever user files you want from within the main program. Just select the correct custom system and it'll load wih all your defaults. Not near HL at the moment but if I recall correctly it's located in the tools menu of the main program.

Hope this helps.

Nice. That is a solution I never would have thought of.

I am at work right now, but I will try it later.

Thanks!
