Hero Lab Classic Updates

I might have wanted to start here, but had initially used the contact us page for Hero Lab classic after not finding this was addressed anywhere on the site. The ticket was automatically closed no response needed. After reopening it doesn't seem to have been touched.

The last updates to both Hero Lab Classic and Pathfinder 1e appear to be from 2020. This is confirmed between two sets of license groups. Both of which have multiple licenses in use. In various entries in Pathfinder, it indicates certain things are not implemented and will be. Given the lack of updates for nearly 5 years I'm just looking for a basic answer.

My question, I think, is a simple one. Will there be future First Party updates to the standalone Hero Lab?

Short answer - No. With Paizo no longer doing anything with PF1, there's no reason for LW to be adding anything further, though they did suggest that bug fixes may continue. LW's focus is now on HLO. I wouldn't expect anything from LW in HLC any more. The Community is still active, even if there's not a lot of us, and LW does still offer coding assistance in the Forum. The last Community Pack update was Oct 2023. It probably isn't the last.

I will say the community pack has been fantastic. I appreciate the work those folks do immensely. I would have appreciated hearing from someone about my ticket. It makes the stand alone version feel more like abandonware when my ticket was closed by an automated system, and especially now that it has sat unanswered once reopened.

I understand from a business standpoint why they wouldn't invest time into their older product. They made the perfect tabletop companion and once people bought the data packages they couldn't make more money. Recurring subscriptions just makes more sense. A straight "no" would be much more appreciated. "Suggest" as you put it just makes me suffer with the notion of hope.

Thank you for your response, though.

You could email support and ask about the ticket detail directly. They have been pretty good at responding to people this way. Without knowing exactly what you've seen that wasn't implemented, I can't comment on whether you have any chance that it would be dealt with. It might be something that the Community could address, depending exactly what package and what details.
