SR 5th ed. Help with data file writing

Could someone give me some advice on creating a stop-gap for the Channeling metamagic until SG is released? I've never used the editor and just can't seem to wrap my head around it :(
 
Channeling is not something that can be implemented without being able to change a lot of things in the program.

Also, implementing 4th edition's version of Channeling took me several days - fortunately, 5ths doesn't seem to have changed much from that.
 
All right then. Guess I'll have to wait since the main change is that it can be used by a Materialization tradition to get the effect of a Possession.
