Help with Custom Race

As someone who has asked for help here many times, I can tell you two things.

If you ask, "can someone just do this for me?", you're most likely not going to get a positive response.

If you're getting a slew of error messages, you're best bet would be to detail what you've tried to do and how you've tried to do it. Then post that here with the details of your error messages. This can be in the form of text or screen captures.

If you really want someone to do this for you, you can offer to send someone a private message to negotiate some sort of equitable exchange. You might find people who are happy to help you in exchange for a $10 donation to a favorite charity or something.

I'm trying to put together a custom race but when I try I get a whole slew of error messages. I could REALLY use some help, or if someone would be able to just make it for me that would also work. I'll include a link to the information about the race below.

Are you using the existing facility within the main HL program to create a "custom race", or are you trying to create this in the editor? It seems that the article is suggesting how to use the "custom race" option within HL.

At first, I was trying to make it in the editor, but after a while, I decided to go with the "custom race" option. However, I do want some of the custom racial traits, which it seems you can only make in the editor. I will post screenshots of the errors I'm getting. Hopefully, someone will be able to explain to me how to fix them.

Exit Hero Lab completely. Close the editor. Close the main program. Close any other Hero Lab windows. Then restart.

I have found, through my own experience, that those errors sometimes occur when I'm mucking about in the editor, but that the things I've done could not possibly cause all those errors.

It's some kind of a bug or a quirk. Closing and restarting Hero Lab should reset whatever is happening, and you should be able to get back into the program and the editor without those errors.

Well, I don't seem to be able to use the community packs I downloaded. I tried downloading them again but I still can't access them. It's just greyed out.

Take the .user files you created, back them up to a different folder, then remove them from the pathfinder data folder. See if that solves the problem with the community packs.

If it doesn't, backup your whole pathfinder folder. Then delete the contents in the hero lab folder. Then reinstall pathfinder. Then reinstall the community packs.

If that works, you can add your own user files back in. See if things break again. If they do, then we know there's a problem with your user file, specifically with how you defined your source(s).

This exactly. This is an issue in the core binary program and nothing I can do to fix. The Community Pack because of its size causes this issue to happen more often.

Its an issue that is hopefully fixed in the future here...
