Help with Custom Feat

Rev Haus 235

I'm playing a .d20 3.5 campaign set in the Privateer Press setting of Iron Kingdoms. It's a great game, but I'm having trouble with a home brewed Feat that our GM made up, and was hoping to get some help.

Here is the description:
Find Weakness (feat)

This feat allows the user to discover how defeat something by using their mental senses to determine the structure of a defense and then determine what will be required to pierce it.
Typically this results in the user fashioning an item that contains the properties necessary to defeat the defense.

By itself, the feat does not grant the user the ability to fashion the item unless the user has the necessary materials and craft skills.
The created object can act either as a bane weapon against the creature or can negate one layer of defenses (e.g. only hit by magic weapons, damage reduction, etc.).

The feat can be used multiple times against the same creature if it has layered defenses but in order to stack the abilities, the item in question must be re-forged or re-created to incorporate each new ability, although no more than three defenses can be negated this way.
It is particularly effective paired with a Rogue’s sneak attack ability and/or ranged combat feats.

For example, this feat could be used to fashion rounds for a pistol to defeat a Troll's ability to regenerate.

Prerequisites: Sneak Attack, 5 levels in Rogue.

My big problem is in understanding on to make the prerequisites work properly.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

There is a large number of feats that have similar pre-reqs to this. If you want to learn how these things are done, I highly recommend taking a look at these. Even if you don't have the community set, the basic feats can still help you.

For example, take a look at Weapon Specialization, which requires 4th level Fighter.

You can also look at some Prestige Classes. For example, Arcane Trickster has a requirement for Sneak Attack +2d6.

You can use the New (Copy) feature in the editor to look at these. For PrC's, you would do this in the Class Level tab.

Well, thanks for the help. I managed to get the class level prerequisite figured out. I can't quite seem to get the Sneak Attack part right, but its not a big deal since you'd have Sneak Attack once you've reached 5th level Rogue anyway.

If you open up the Pick-Req dialogue, you should be able to add "xSneakAtt". This is the special that is bootstrapped to all characters with Sneak Attack.
