Having issues with a secondary licence

OK, I purchased a cd copy of this proggy for my comp from a local distributor.
My local club is running a tournament, and I got the job of Army list validation (since I was more familiar with more armies), so I figured AB3 would be a worthwhile purchase.
The disc installed and keyed up fine.

I was reading through the documentation, and saw that I was entitled to a free secondary licence to go along with the first one, so I logged on and requested (and received) one.

My major tourney/list work is done on my desktop, so it's licenced to it. However, during the tourney and at my gaming club meets, I will have my laptop with me (in case any players forget their list, so that I can print out a new copy for them). I figured I could install the second licence copy onto the laptop from the disc and use the new secondary licence provided, but it is giving me issues.

If I try using the original licence, it disalows it, on the grounds that it is already issued to another computer (fair enough. I know this)

If I try entering the secondary licence code, it tells me to recheck the code, because it doesn't match the one supplied.

So, how do I install and activate my secondary copy and licence?

What step have I missed. What setting/file menu is it under?

Any help with this issue s appreciated.

Good work on the files, and I haven't had any issues with the program apart from this.

I think the secondary license only will work on a downloaded copy of the program. Not the CD. Could be wrong though as I do not have the CD version either.

Ah, thanks.

I'll see if that works.
I was reluctant to use the download AB option as my ADSL connection isn't very fast (last time i downloaded a cds worth of files it took the better part of 6 hours.)

It worked the way you said. Downloaded a "demo" copy and activated it with my secondary licence, and it worked fine. Thanks for the assistance.

Btw, tournament went fairly smoothly, and it was very handy having AB3 as 9 of the 25 entrants submitted lists in .rst format.
