having hero lab store its licence elsewhere

Is it possible for me to move the "My documents\hero lab" data to somewhere else on the computer and have hero lab find it there instead?

The documents folder is on a shared network drive that I sometimes lose access to, and I want to move it onto the local harddrive.

Not sure if you can move it after HL is installed. Also I have a question of what you mean by data? Is that the data Folder, User Files, or Portfolios you created?

User created files must be in the Data folder along with the system files. Any portfolios can be in any location you like.

The user files and the data files for the individual games are in c:\programdata - no problems there. Portfolios are no problem either.

I think the problem is documents\hero lab\HPinfo.lic - the rest of the stuff in documents doesn't look important.

Ah, ya I think that the license also needs to e in the install folder. Now I know you can install HL to a different location, but that might not allow for what you are looking for. Sorry.
