Have 3 dedication feats can't pick up new dediation

LazarX

Well-known member
Character is an 8th fighter has these feats

Champion's Dedication (Paladin)

Healer's Touch (Paladin Dedication)

Champion's Reaction. (Champion Dedication)

Why can't he start a new Dedication, he wants to do Wizard.

Hey Lazar,

Send us an email in support with some screenshots of the various tables where the Class/Archetype Feats are added (Regardless of where they're added) and also the Zip file that includes the Character Sheets.

I'll see what we can find out and get this documented for our team to address. Thanks!

Playing around a bit, it doesn't look like Champion's Reaction is counting toward the 2 feats you need to finalize Champion's Dedication. On a test char I was able to duplicate the issue, and swapping Champion's Reaction for a different Champion's Dedication Feat allowed me to pick up Wizard Dedication.

This would explain something I noted: it didn't seem that I was getting the extra HPs for the Champions Reaction that I would have thought Champion Resiliency should provide. Put another way, Champion Resiliency seemed to be missing a feat in the extra HP count ... and this suggests that might have been due to this same problem with Champion's Reaction.

Please submit a support ticket with these additional details. It will help us to more quickly localize and fix the issue.

I suspect that the system is not treating dedication feats that are typed as Paladin, Redeemer, etc. as qualifying Champion dedidation feats.

One way to debug problems like this is for the online program to give us the equivalent of exportable portfolio files. This would be a big help to GM's who run campaigns with other Herolab users.

I don't see how an exportable portfolio file would be of any use in diagnosing a problem like this. The portfolio would identify what has been added to the character, while this appears to be a cascading effect issue.

Also, perhaps you haven't noticed, but we've announced that an exported version of the character is something we're actively working on.
