French translation all over again

Hello all !

I'm coming back to this project... For the little story, my old mac (6 years old) crashed (hard drive corruption), and so I got a new one. Unlucky for me, I didn't had any backup at all, and when I noticed that, I was a little bit disgusted that I didn't had. All my progress were reset. Now I'm finding the courage to go for it over again and I restarted the project from scratch. Luckily I had some posts in here that helped me to walk around the problems I met before :)

I've also spent my morning trying to read the authoring kit wiki to try locating some information I don't remember. I found some, but not all. Therefore, I'm posting here to ask for a little bit of help.

- I've found the definition for the ID field. Since I'm translating the Savage Worlds, I have the source with the authoring kit. I created a duplicate and copy pasted the source of SW. Since this is already an established product, I guess ID is the field I should NEVER touch, to avoid breaking stuff. But I searched for the name field, and couldn't find its definition. If all I do is changing the name field and desc field, am I safe to suppose nothing will break ?

- I use Savage Worlds for Deadlands Reloaded. I found that a user has created the ruleset for DR. Can I translate the two files that comes with that user project, or do I need to contact him to get more specific source so Deadlands would also be translated, or can I just go like that, and compile ?

Many thanks for your answers
