I think it would be good for containers to have a setting that prevents the equipment there from being equipped.
For example, a weapon that was "Dropped to ground" should not be able to be equipped unless it is first recovered.
Other containers would benefit from this as well, such as containers defined to represent things left back in the character's home.
Arguably, perhaps the ability to Equip gear should be limited to items stored "on the Hero", but that may be excessive.
