[Feature Request]: Movement Modes

+2! (That's +1 for the original idea, and +1 for the idea of showing the modifiers to Speed so that I can see where the numbers come from, just like for saving throws and skill checks and so on. Both on the desktop and iPad versions, please!)

+3!

That's the +2 from above then another +1 to add a drop-down to select current movement mode! :)

I think this feature wins the popular vote by over 3 million votes...

:D

(Is that enough smileys? I guess we’ll find out.)

Fake News!

Ballot box survives and exit polls show this feature request is winning the popular vote by +6 now!

Breaking!

Was Jamz spotted bussing muslim anchor babies over the canadian border to vote in the last election? Was he directly under the orders of Vladimir Putin or just acting in concert with Russian wishes? Did he kick your puppy? Some people say yes!

Stay tuned for our next investigative piece "Nancy Pelosi is a 1000 year old Nazi Vampire".

Okay, this is getting derailed. The real question here is how this project stacks up to all the other improvements on the list - projects like custom staves (built in the UI), adding more spell and ability adjustments, improving the custom output (which better supports custom character sheets like AncientOne's), and all the other things on the list of improvements for Pathfinder. Displaying the movement options on the summary is a quicker project than those others I mentioned, so that means fewer interested people will push it to the top next time someone is between other projects and can spend time making improvements, because it takes a smaller block of available time to fit this one in to your schedule.

As a general thing about feature request threads - I do note them when they're posted, and I do tend to remember a rough idea of the level of interest in them. I don't generally reply to them, because over the years, I've seen most of them before, and people rarely resurrect an old thread - they post a new one. But if you post a feature request, we are noticing that.

I understand. I used to write code for a living, so it's all about "bang for the buck", or, more appropriately, "bang for the hour."

If this is an easy-to-do feature, then yes, banging out the small stuff helps with public relations and is low hanging fruit. Of the other things on the list, I don't use Ancient One's sheet, but adding a tag that says "this item is in container XXX" doesn't seem like it would be a large job.

No, after this one I would prioritize other, similar items.

For example, the Play tab on the iPad doesn't have any dice roller; there's no way to see a summary of gear value like there is on the desktop version; the skill descriptions don't say which ability score is being used for the bonus (important when feats can change it!); and untyped bonuses are not sourced so they're difficult to track down...

Thanks for listening! :)

What Azhrei said...

This is at the top of my "quick hits" list. So the quickest implementation IMHO would be to simply list all available movement types on the basic panel. Since HL already knows you can fly at x speed with movement mode y on the special tab, throw it on the basic tab along with the base speed.

Checkboxes and movement modes would be cherry on top, but bottom line I'd like to quickly know how far my Eidolon can fly. I spend enough time switching characters and tabs as it is!

Oh, and BTW, my Eidolon forgot to vote when the summoner voted so that's +7 now... ;)
