Farsight enclaves questions

How do I select The Eight instead of a bodyguard squad? I should be able to select any of the eight when I take Farsight. But the only way I seem to be able to is by selecting The Eight in formations.

Also, why can I select An'Va in the Farsight Enclaves? He is not allowed. Neither is Shadowsun.
