Familiars and Headbands of Intelligence

I've noticed that if a Wizard is wearing a Headband of Vast intelligence, the skill ranks he gains from it don't transfer across to his familiar (familiars are supposed to get the same skill ranks as their master.)

Is this intended or an error?
 
If you're not sure of a ruling, I'd recommend asking about that in forums that are more dedicated to rules issues, like Paizo's. Then, when you have an official answer, you can report it in our bug reporting mechanism if we're not handling it correctly.
