Familiar for Oracle

I have an oracle mystery that has a revelation that grants a familiar, albeit transformed into a construct.

I have added the appropriate things to the revelation for a familiar (copied from other nonstandard familiar granting classes, i.e. druid and rogue). However when I go to choose the familiar's race they are all grayed out. The ones I should be able to select (that I do not need the Improved Familiar feat) say that it is not allowed for Cavaliers. Strange since my character only has oracle levels.
 
Druid and Ranger grant animal companions, not familiars. If you want to grant a familiar, wouldn't the "Arcane Familiar" custom ability that Wizards use be the thing to copy?
 
As an example I am using the familiar granted by the thing cDrdFamil which grants a blight druid a familiar. Figured this would be the best example to work from since both an oracle and druid are divine casters.
