Error when Loading HL

Not sure who the publisher is for this particular pack, so I'm not sure where to send this. Thus, I'm putting it here.

As of recently (this month, September 2014), after installing several updates, I've started receiving an error message on loading HL.

The error message is basically saying that a Duplicate Record has been encountered. This error is produced for multiple "user lines", all within the file "PFRPG_FMG_Way_of_the_Wicked_Book_5_The_Devil_My_Only_Master(Players)"


Then, after HL opens, and I select my party portfolio, I get an error message that states "Critical information not found in data files: Source 'Fire Mountain Games'.....It goes on with multiple data file sources being listed in this error message:'SRD Pathfinder Modules', 'Pathfinder Modules', 'Community Player Pack v2.23', 'Way of the wicked AP', 'Academy of Secrets', and many more.


Anyone else seen/encountered this? Anyone know how to remedy this?

Try downloading the community player pack again and letting it install. A few people had issues but a fresh download and install was clearing it up.

If not you can right click the message and copy to get the full list of errors to past here.

A note that once you get errors on HL load it goes into safe mode and loading a .por file won't work.

The data files could not be loaded due to errors. Hero Lab will now attempt to load them in recovery mode. Once loaded, you can access the editor as normal to correct any errors.

Sigh this one file does not want to clean out.

So do this:
1) Start HL and press OK through the error message.
2) Go to Tools menu within Hero Lab and choose Explore Folders->Program Data Folder.
3) In the new Windows Explorer window look for all the PFRPG_FMG_Way_of_the_Wicked* files and select them ALL and delete them.
4) Back in HL top right corner click on "View Updates". And download and install "Community Player Pack" again.
5) Close down HL and restart.

You should be good now.

Have you deleted the file completely from your update mechanism? I know when we eliminate a file from our packages (because we reorganize to move it's contents elsewhere) we leave the file there but empty, so it overwrites the old version and there are not duplication errors.

Yep. Its a zero kb file.

So either A) the space in the file name above is causing issues somehow with the 0kb delete mechanic or B) its possible I was tired and somehow missed adding the file with a "space" to the package.

I can look tonight maybe......
