I have downloaded army builder. When I go to install it I get a
message that says, "could not initialize the instalation. (CRC) The
paramater is incorrect." Can anyone help me???

This problem is due to one of the following issues, starting with the most
likely one:
1. The installation file itself is corrupt. The solution is to download it
again.
2. When you run the installer, the default drive MUST be the drive where
the file resides. The solution is to launch the installer via the sequence
outlined below.
a. Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner.
b. Click on "Run...".
c. Click on "Browse...".
d. Select the file that you downloaded (probably "abldr14d.exe").
e. Invoke the installer.
3. The Windows directory on your computer is full or not writable.
4. The "TMP" directory on your computer is not defined, is full, or is not
writable.
5. One of the following 3 files on your computer is corrupted: "ver.dll",
"version.dll", or "ddeml.dll". It is valid if your system only has a proper
"ver.dll" file on it.
Please check these possible issues and see if they don't correct the
problem for you.

created a file called "tmp", I tried the start, run, open and I have
downloaded it again. None of it worked. Do you have any other ideas?

# if you have a reg #. If you have the CD then there's no problems. I had
that problem with AB on my Laptop. All I did was uninstall it and installed
1.4D and everything works great.

Wow! I hadn't heard of re-installing the product being necessary before.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Toller! :-)
For Jason: If you have a registered version and need to uninstall AB, then
simply write down the registration number first. You can obtain it by going
to the Help menu and selecting Registration. When you re-install AB, the
system code will be the same, so you can simply re-enter the original
registration code once again.
