Eldritch Heritage (Sylvan) + Robes of Arcane Heritage

I built a level 10 character with the Eldritch Heritage (Sylvan) feat. His familiar is 5 levels behind him because of the -2 from Eldritch Heritage, and the -3 from Sylvan bloodline.

Robes of Arcane Heritage says:
"The wearer treats her sorcerer level as 4 higher than normal for the purpose of determining what bloodline powers she can use and their effects."

Eldrith Heritage says:
"For purposes of using that power, treat your sorcerer level as equal to your character level – 2, even if you have levels in sorcerer."

And so, for the purpose of this feat, you are granted sorcerer levels. The Robe of Arcane Heritage should improve your sorcerer by four.

When I equip the robes on this character, the bloodline power is not enhanced by four levels. Is this an error, or mechanically correct? Either way, is there a reasonable fix for this if I want it to function as I describe?

It only works for sorcerer class levels. Eldritch Heritage is not making you a sorcerer. It only gives you a few powers.

Dwayne,

Yes, you are not a sorcerer, but it clearly states that your sorcerer level, for the purpose of using that power, is equal to your character level -2.

Also, it only gives you one power, just the first level power. Have you carefully read through both abilities that I mentioned?

It appears to work for everything but the Animal Companion from Sylvan or the Familiar from Arcane.

Interesting. I should have trouble shooted to have learned this previously. Is there a rules mechanic which makes this purposeful or is it simply an error?

Any quick fixes for this or will I have to go in and manually grant HD?
