Would it be possible to make a feature for the editor that when files are compiled and errors are generated that you click on the error and it takes you to that file so you can fix it with out digging through the entre editor.
 
If you get an error generated when "compiling' it should be in the user file that you are currently (or just finished) editing.
You could try a program like GSR (Global Search and Replace, free) that can search a whole folder worth of files for a ID so that you can work out where it is.
