Early License Reassignment??

What the heck. I downloaded the most recent update and I'm getting a message saying that I need approval for "Early License Reassignment"

What the heck does that mean? I've updated before and had the program go out an retrieve my license without issue. Super annoying. I'm supposed to play tonight and now have HL that only works in demo mode :mad:

I did send an e-mail to tech support asking for early renewal (which I really don;t think is correct) but it says give 1-2 days for a replay. That'll hose me for tonight if that's right.

Any suggestions or any idea why it did this?
 
Hey tstetz! Sorry to hear your license was flagged for a reassignment. :( Please know that our support staff is super responsive, and often replies much quicker than 1-2 business days.

Nonetheless, I'm going to point you to an awesome forum post that one of our users put together for license reassignments. You can read the post here.

As ShadowChemosh points out, often a user has one license number installed on two separate devices (desktop pc and iPad, desktop pc and laptop, etc.). Each copy of Hero Lab comes with a free secondary license number, but the user must go to www.lonewolfdevel.com or the "License>Obtain Secondary License..." menu within Hero Lab to obtain that secondary license number and use it to activate the second device. Once there's a separate license number on each device, users shouldn't run into this issue.

Hmm, let me poke at that. I do have HL installed on my iPad too. Maybe that is the issue?

Thanks for the tips I'll take a look now.

It does look like I can still play on my iPad for now at least so I'm not going to mess with it until after tonights game I think!
 
Crud. Okay I must have done that because I tried getting a secondary license and its says the max number of secondary licenses have already been issued to me.

Now I'm even more confused :p
 
To get a list of the license numbers you currently have, in the License menu, choose "send my licenses to me".

Remember that the iPad is considered a separate device, and needs a separate license number - a different number than the numbers used on each desktop/laptop you have.
 
Okay, think I got it!

Apparently I transferred my primary license to my iPad somehow or another. So, I now applied my secondary license to my PC and both seem to work.

Guess it doesn't matter which has the primary right?

Don't feel bad man, this happens to us all at some point, I have HL on so many devices I have no idea how it is all kept straight.

But I am going to one up you, I had to contact support to get it worked out last time I mucked it all up.
