Display AC?

Werebear

Member
Its been a while since I have used Hero Lab, I used to be able to see my AC on my character sheets (and screen) but now it says "defense" "armor dr breakdown" and "critical defense breakdown" Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is there a way to change it back? As a semi new player, its kinda confusing this way, when all the other players dont use it like that...

In the character menu, choose Configure Hero. In the settings on the right, find Ultimate Combat - you've turned on the "Ultiamte Combat Armor/DR" optional rule.

Ok, like Werebear I have some pc's using defense and some using AC. I want to use just AC. I unchecked Ultimate Combat Armor/DR and set the new default... and some of the characters still have Defense listed in stead of AC... Any ideas on what is going on?

Were those characters saved before you set the new default? If so, they'd have stayed set to Ultimate Combat/DR, even if you've changed the default - the default is applied to new characters - it does not override what's saved on existing characters.

ok, thanks for input. Just for future reference for myself and any future readers:
IF you create a character with a ruleset like Ultimate Combat.
THEN you uncheck Ultimate Combat, that character will still be using the Ultimate Combat rules and the solution is to re-create that character under the new rule set.

Correct?

(thanks for quick reply.)

No, not correct. While changing the default does not change existing characters, you can change the setting on the existing character without having to re-create the character. Just open the character, change the setting (or click "Use Defaults" if you are updating them after changing your Default settings), and re-save.

Character menu...Configure Hero is how to re-open that form on an existing character.

(I just wanted to make sure you didn't think you could only access that form when starting a new character).
