Actually, "http://www.xlonewolf.com/ab_files/login.asp" is the URL you go
to when you are updating a datafile for the public. Going through this
process allows ArmyBuilder to recognize a new version of a given datafile
through the 'Locate Files' section of army builder as well as the
datafiles page on wolflairs website. So xlonewolf is correct, it's just
not working.

Subject: Website Outage

I just returned from attending a Con over the weekend and discovered the
server stopped dead while I was gone. I haven't figured out what went wrong
yet, but all should now be operating correctly. If I had not been on the
road, the outage would have been short. As it was, the server stopped
Friday night, a few hours after I left, and I didn't return until late
Monday night. :-(

This occurrence is NOT a harbinger of anything (as one person postulated).
Absolutely nothing is wrong on this end, except for some as yet unknown
glitch in the server. We're a tiny company, so stuff like this
unfortunately happens once in awhile. Please refrain from assumptions about
"the end" when nothing of the sort is the case. :-)

Thanks, Rob

Subject: Chaos space marines---Where do I find the files?

Hi,
I am fairly new to armybuilder and I can not locate any of the csm
files. I was wondering where they are. I have downloaded the
recent update and see that there were updates for them but still I
cant find them. When I open the new roster there is no choice for
csm. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Craig

Subject: Item points

I'm trying to fix a bug in the Warhammer Lizardmen files I just released
where the skink chief and priest seem to have unlimited magic items. I've
tried to change them to match other characters with similar magic item
allowances but they're still not working right. This is what I have now
in ABCreator for their Magic Items:
----------
#Items: 50
Internal Attribute:
ipts:total=50-each=50
----------

Now, the validation works fine; it won't let the user add too many points
in magic items, but the 'Items Left' counter in the item screen in AB does
not go down when the user takes magic items. The characters both have 50
to start but after taking say a 20pt item, it still reads 50. Can someone
enlighten me as to what exactly I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Mark

You will have to 'Switch Game System..' (under the File menu) after
importing new files to see the updated lists. So if you're in the 40k
files (creating a roster) and you import the new 40k files, you have to
click File | Switch Game System, and choose the 40k game to re-load it
with the new info.

I've fixed it by changing #Items to 100.
ArmyBuilder uses #Items or ipts, not both. If #items is set above 99 and ipts
is set, it decrements points rather than # (number) of items in the display.

No, the legions aren't done yet, the gentleman that was working on chaos is very busy at work, and I am in the process of moving and starting a new job. I have received a few offers form people to help, and I am going through them right now. Noone has volunteered to try and take on Chaos yet, which is a rather complicated list.

The user has the option of hiding items on a unit-by-unit basis, but not
the datafile author. What mechanism are you using that requires items to be
used?

If you want to remove the 'number of items' box, simply give the unit an
infeasible number of item slots (like 100). The box will then be hidden.

It sounds like the magic item you chose is from a category that takes up 0
'slots' (this would be specified in the definition file). If this is the
case, the number of items allowed will still be 50 after you take it.
