Subject: Ravening Hordes
I received Ravening Hordes in the mail over the weekend. The new info
looks pretty cool.
I was wondering if there are plans to make AB files for the Ravening
Hordes lists? I know that no new data files were planned until V2
came out. I was just curious about this. I also wanted to make sure
that everyone in the UK was getting the booklet as we did here in the
states. I would be glad to provide a copy to anyone that may be
working on the files if they don't have one.
I wish that I was making the files myself then I wouldn't have to
trouble anyone with this. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to
learn the AB Creator yet! Something to work on down the road!
Thanks,
Jeff Hall

We were just discussing this on the AB2 beta list... someone's put
together some files based on some sort of preview Dark Elf codex, but
nobody's down as "official" file person as yet. Why not do it yourself,
and be welcomed into the fold?

I don't think Ravening Hordes is out here yet... this is probably part
of GW's new imbecile policy, whatever it may be. We're having a big
warhammer sale this weekend, they probably don't want to put people off.

In the last couple of months, I did a huge augmentation file (with a
bunch of help from you guys - thanks again!), and now I'm worried
that it won't be compatable when V2 comes out. Is there a way I can
tell? Or would someone in the test group have a Warhammer Fantasy
Battles datafile for V2 that they would be willing to use to test out
my augmentation file (I'd be happy to send it to whoever can check it
out for me)?
Thanks again!

I don't think the FB files will change much for V2. Yours should be OK,
from what I remember of it. You'd have to ask John Connell (connellj@u-
net.or.jp) what he's changed in the v2 files.

I don't know the complete list. You'll find all the races defined in the
".wfb" data files. Just open them with ABCreator and you can generate a
complete list as fast as I can do it on this end. I do not know the list
off the top of my head, as I did not write the files.

I don't have an exact date yet. It should be the last week of the month,

production. The last info I received is that this will occur the last week

I expect only a handful of things to actually CHANGE in the WFB data files
for V2. I'm guessing that John will be ADDING some stuff, though.
I
agree with Colen that I don't expect there to be any significant impact on
your augmentations. If there is an impact, it should be minor and require
very little effort to adapt, unless John is planning a complete re-write
that I haven't been advised of.
Since WFB 6 is due out later this year,
I expect the WFB files to be largely untouched.
V2 itself will read the V1 data files without any problems, so the files
won't be changing except to clean up a few minor problems/limitations and
add a few new things.
Hope this helps,
Rob
