Well, while we are nit-picking the WH40K files <GRIN>

Colen, I'm not sure how GW-UK answers this one. A Scout Sergeant in
the WH40K files is not permitted a Sniper rifle. The codex says,
ahem,
and I quote :)

"Any model in the squad may replace their bolt pistol and close
comabt
weapon with a sniper rifle at +5 points, or a bolter or shotgun at no
additional points cost."

To my way of thinking, this includes the sergeant. Of course, there
is
no standard model, but that doesn't stop me using one :)

Comments? Any chance of a fix in the future? Just saves me having to
create a patch file :)

Cheers
DaveC

No it doesn't. :)

Read it carefully; it says you can take the vehicles from the Rulebook,
not the codex.

Don't make us start on this again. If you want a detailed explanation,
look at some of the previous messages on this egroup. Basically, after a
long, annoying debate between me and some other people, the head of the
US GT (or whatever) said that you couldn't take Sniper Rifles, etc. This
is how the files are going to stay, unless God himself emails me saying
differently. :)

To the gods (or Colin),

In the Sisters of Battle, Celestian Squad the sister superior should
have the same stats as the celestians and actually be called a
Celestian Superior (and Vet. Celestian Superior) if possible.

Thanx

Kindly divert your eyes to page 5 of Codex:Space Marines and read the small but
oh so important text regarding options and squad upgrades :)

The exact wording is "A looted vehicle may be chosen from one of the following
army list entries in the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook."

Also note the words "a looted vehicle may use Ork vehicle upgrades." - anyone
care to point out to me where it states looted vehicles can use Marine or Guard
vehicle upgrades??

I think that our friend was confused by the phrase "may use weapon
options", I agree that that doesn't include Vehicle mods. But it does
include Heavy Flamers; weapons that don't depend on a BS skill.

I have an option(weapon) that I'm tring to link to a troop in another
race. but it doesn't seem to recognize it. the option works fine for
the other troops in other races that have it but only this one
doesn't
see it. Its not restricted in any way. I don't have the slightest
clue why it doesn't see it. any ideas?

I personally can't think of any way to do this in AB 1.4d.
AB v2 however will be able to achieve this with a global
option (assuming Desert troops have already been assigned
the "Desert" type).

You'll probably just have to wait (it's not going to be
long now :-)

Russell.

Is there a way to have an effect, ie. -1 to MW, for all units that
aren't considered desert troops when the desert senario is chosen
without having to go through every troop in the database and augument
each of them.

One entry for something like, if senario is desert then all none
desert troops are -1 to mw. that works for all races.

Subject: 40K Named Special Characters

In the appendices of the Space Marines Codex and the Dark Eldar Codex are
some named special characters (i.e. Marneus Calgar for Space Marines,
Asdrubael Vect for Dark Eldar). I can't find these characters in the
Armybuilder 40K data files (white) nor can I "build" a character that comes
close to the proper points value and
wargear.

Are they hiding somewhere I can't find? If not, how would one go about
adding the special characters from each of the codexes?

I was in the Hobby Shop the other day and saw a box of Asdrubael Vect and
his Ravager.

Thanks,

Brad

Is it giving you a "Data files failed to load because of error X" error,
or is it just not appearing?
