Subject: Automatic Update Checking and Proxy Servers

Hello all,

I've been having a problem with AB for quite a while now, and it has
gotten to the point where its annoyed me enough. I am on a corporate
network behing a MS Proxy server and AB continuously fails when it
checks for updates. Does anyone know of a way around this, or should
I send it in as a bug report.

I am thinking that they hard coded the connection into the software
rather than using the windows routines.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
GrahamT

Yep, I've been having the same problem since the betas of ABv2
- not sure if it's already on the bug list or not... I know I
raised it :-) The only workaround that I know about is to install
the Winsock Proxy client on your PC (which requires some
configuration on the Proxy server).

Rob, if you need someone to help debug this, I can probably help...

Cheers,
Russell.

It's installed, I imagine I need to open a port on the server... I
emailed and asked which....

Thanks for the response.

Cheers,
Graham
