Subject: Chaos Cultists, and thousand sons
in the 40k FAQ it has the question:
--
Why are cultists showing up as troop choices in IA Chaos armies? For
example, Iron warriors should only be able to have Chaos Space Marines and
CSM Veterans.
You are misreading the article. It says, "Iron Warriors use the following
units from Codex: Chaos Space Marines." This statement does not limit the
army to 'only use' units from C:CSM, but that only those units 'from' C:CSM
can be used. The Chapter Approved Compilation specifically states that "All
Chaos armies may have cultists as troop choices." This same rule applies to
VDR. Any army may have VDR vehicles (even though it is not listed in the IA
article)
--
the problem as i see it is that the new thousand sons IA article actually
lists cultists as a troops choice. does this mean that the others can't have
cultists? it was reasoned that they were not in the IA lists because they
are additions to ALL chaos armies, but what happens to that reasoning when
they are now specified in an IA list?
Lee.

G'day,
I was just reviewing the Skaven files (thanks) as the book isn't out
here yet. I noticed the sling description doesn't reflect the changes in
WHFB6 at page 92.
The sling, in WHFB6, is now "2 x Multiple shot" if within 9" range. It
has been updated to use the generic "multiple shot" rule (-1 to hit if
multiple shots made) of WHFB6 and no longer suffers from the old rule that
you cannot shoot twice if you move.
This was only recently drawn to my attention by a bloke on IIRC the
Ozgamers list.
So, I'm afraid a small update needed (and appreciated).
Cheers
Bern
