Yes I was running v2.2c (clearly stated at the bottom of the post), I always
had been and it only because I have had to reinstall my OS a couple of times
in the last 6 months that I even bought the CD.
The delete the previous data files check box was checked, also as per
normal.
Therefore I posted question since based on my past experience with the data
files this was out of the ordinary.
The fact that I had to manually delete the data files from the folder,
resulting in AB having no WHFB files in its records, fixed things. However
this seems to be an odd way about doing things.
Since the error messages were so concise I thought that you guys might want
to know about it and perhaps try and replicate it since it could be a bug in
the system.

First thing to note - Do you have Armybuilder 2.2c? That is what the files
are made for.

And, as far as I know, the CD-ROM available is only for 2.0. Try
downloading the AB 2.2c update.

If you notice when you install the new updates, there is a check box
near the bottom of the window. It says "Delete files not updated by
the import(recommended in most cases.)" So yes it is necessary,
although painless if you check that box.
