Okay, now that I have codex chapter approved I see where it says
that. Thanks!

Okay, that's fine. However, there still remains the minor issue of
the check box that does nothing.

Hmmmm.... There is a difference between noise marines and their
weapons and SM scout snipers. The sniper rifles are optional weapons
that are purchased as upgrades for a squad. In the case of noise
marines, sonic blasters are the normal weapon for the squad.
Sergeants or Aspiring champions may not be entitled to a squad's
upgrades but they should be able to take the default weapon
regardless of whether it is a bolter, bolt pistol and CCW, or a sonic
blaster. The squad upgrade weapon is a blast master which you can't
give to the aspiring champion.

Like I said, I didn't have the book in front of me... sure, if the sonic
blaster is the normal weapon, then the aspiring champion should have one.

I thought Champions got a Doom Siren and Power
weapon (for next to no price) when you upgraded
them to Champion status. And that you could give
them a Sonic Blaster for a couple few extra
points.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I'm relatively new to AB and recently updated to 40k3_v2p31 for
the
first time using the "Check for Updates" button included in
the
program. Since then, when trying to start AB, WH40K is not listed in
the game system selection. All of my saved 40K rosters are still on
my computer, but it won't allow me to load them OR create any new
ones!
When I try to "Import files" from the main screen, I select
the most
recent download and click import. It states that "Import was
successful and the new data files are ready for use. Select the
appropriate game system from the list presented."
However, the only systems listed are "Battlefleet Gothic"
(downloaded
when I first got the program, but never use), and "Tutorial."
I thought maybe the file I downloaded was corrupted, so I
redownloaded it from a different source. Unfortunately, the problem
remains. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and, more
importantly,
what I must do to correct this problem.

Thanks,
ANTHONY

Colen,

Devastator and tactical squad selections for lootas allows them to take
either rhinos or razorbacks. Under looted vehicle they are permitted
smoke launchers but not under the lootas option. Is there a reason for
this? I assume that if the smoke launchers are an option (like indirect
fire) that they can take it, especially as it appears under the looted
vehicle options.

Being a sad individual I can field any combination of the ork devastator
squad and it has been fun looking at my opponents face when his
landraider dies to them. A razorback with lascannon and TL plasma guns
should also help wipe the complacent smile off of his face :) Mind you
the twin heavy blotter is nice enough against lighter targets. Throw in
3 looted vanilla rhinos and I'll call it Ork marine. So two loot squads
with transports and 3 looted rhinos should be an amusing variant for my
opponent. Not cheap but amusing.

Cheers

Grotfang, not so humble ork warlord.

Most likely you are on AB 2.1, hit the Check for files button and look for
AB2.2a. Download and install that (it will ask you if you want to install
it after downloading...very easy). After that, you should be all set. I
had the same problem when the new datafiles were released.

Hope that helps

Lootas can use the *options* from certain SM/IG squads - vehicles arent an
*option*. Look at the relevent entries in either C:SM or C:IG and see.

Subject: Restricting options based on unit size

I am trying to find out how to restrict the number of options available
based on unit size.

Example

Unit Foo gets 'Option Alpha'
Up to 1/2 of Unit Foo may exchange their 'Option Alpha' for 'Option Beta'.

So far, I have made it so Option Alpha decreases when I add Option Beta, but
I am not sure how to make Option Beta limited to 1/2 of the unit size. The
best I could do was limit the rang to half of the maximum number in Unit
Foo. But, if less than the maximum are taken, I have to create a conflict
message. I'd prefer to make it so you are not able to add to Option Beta
unless more are added to Unit Foo.

This would be similiar to Space Wolves Blood Claws and how they can have a
number of power weapons equal to 1/5 of the models in the unit.

Please help.

Thanks,
-Shawn

That fixed it! Thanks for the assist.

I'm now experiencing one more problem that I'm not sure is related or
not. When I select "Print Roster" or "Print Summary" it gives me the
following error msg:
"Program has performed as illegal operation and will be shut down."

I know it sounds like a system problem, but it has never done this
before, and I only get it when I try to print things in AB!
Anyone else experiencing this or similar problems?

I would suggest totally uninstalling AB, reboot, and then reinstall. If
that doesn't fix it...I'm not sure from there.

Hope this also helps =]

Hmmm... I think you're right! =)

Nevertheless, my point still remains which is:

The check box to select noise marine weapons for noise marine
aspiring champion terminators does nothing...

"Lootas may take the transport option from a squad."

And from the online Q&A:

"Can Lootas take the transport option from a squad?
Yes they can."

Which is why Colen allows Lootas to take the squads vehicle options
in the 40K files.
