Subject: Space Wolf Wolf Guard changes ?

Gents,
I'm not sure when the dats changed, but I just noticed that I can
no longer "Add Wolf Guard" to the body guard, except by using the +
sign. That's fine if they are all carrying 'basic weapons' and they
are ALL armed the same - however when you put them in Termie armour
and slap a heavy weapon on one -DOH! now they ALL are armed with
heavies - and the codex states "one in three may upgrade to..."

is there a way around this that i can use?

as i mentioned in the past there was the 'add wolf guard selection
which then added "Wolf Guard #1" etc. so I could then select
individual weapon types for them. (i'd select wolf guard bodyguard
(unit of 4) then i'd add wolf guard 3 times, then subtract from the
original unit to get a total of four, then give ONE of them a heavy
weapon, then give the remainder of the unit what ever i wanted - some
thunder hammers, some powerfist, some lightening claws.)

anyone? Thanks!

K2

Subject: Model Limit?

Hi there-

I've been tinkering with ABCreator and wondered if there is a way to
limit the number of models in a roster? I have seen various ways to
limit units, but not models.

For instance, say you can have an unlimited number of Bestigor units,
but the total number of models is limited to 40 (or even some
calculation of the total roster size).

Is there a way to model this?

Thanks!
Errett

Tremendous Error #3 - this implies they can be taken as a retinue, which is
fair enough I suppose.

Tremendous Error #5, which you didn't spot but someone else did - Thousand
Sons terminators shouldn't be allowed to upgrade their weapons.

I'm making these changes to the Cult Terminators only, and leaving the old
ones as they are.

Yep. The Brazier was adding 0.5 attacks, not (as it should have been) 0.49
attacks. :)

It might not be legal, depending on how you interpret the word 'item' -
"You may not take duplicate items for the same model", says the rules.
Also, The effect of having (for example) 2 Bolt Pistols or 2 Braziers is
exactly the same as taking one Bolt Pistol / Brazier and a Close Combat
Weapon, and often cheaper.

Indeed, hence the 'Deathworld Veteran' option on every Imperial Guard unit.

Hmm, fair point.

Well, As I read it, it is legal to take two single handed weapons, with no restrictions to the type of weapons.
I don't have the Codex, e.g. for Vanilla Space Marine, with me right now, but AFAIR the section about having "2 singled handed weapons OR one two handed and one single handed weapon" is followd by a sentence allowing a model to take up to 100 point of wargear, which is then followed by the "You may not take duplicate items" rules. I read this as: you may not take two identical wargear items, but you may take two identical single handed weapons.
"Why would anyone take, say two bolt pistols, as you can only use (shoot) one of 'em", you might ask?
Well, I might have a cool looking, converted model armed with just that.
If it is legal, as I think it is, it sould also be selectable in AB. Right now what I do is to take one bolt pistol as a bolt pistol and then use the other as a 'close combat weapon'.
Same price, same effect but wrong label.

I am using the latest datafiles (v2.30) and was able to create wolfguard
correctly (as you remember being able to do it). There are 3 "pages" of
wargear for a wolf lord, the "add bodyguard" button is the last one.

Ok, went back in, played some more with it.

I found that if you select Termie armour for your Wolf Lord PRIOR to
selecting Wolf Guard, then the last button on the wargear pages you
will see is for the Prometheus.
So, i went back in, deselected EVERYTHING the Wolf Lord had, re-
selected the Wolf Guard, highlighted the Wolf Guard unit and sure
enough, i could do the modifications just as you said!
so, it's all good, thanks gents - just have to remember to select and
kit out your wolf guard FIRST, then kit out the Wolf Lord himself.

Thanks again all!

If I'm understanding you correctly, you can use the "tlmt" or "ulmt" race
attributes to control limits across multiple units in the roster. You can
also use the "umax" external unit attribute to control limits of a specific
unit.

Hope this helps,
Rob

Doing it in either order works for me :O

Can you make sure you're doing two things:

1) Using the latest datafiles
2) Creating an entirely new roster, i.e. not reloading an old one and using it?
