Fairly easy to see your old roster apart from reloading the old AB files
that is. Select View Full Size Roster. Still doesn't appear when you go
back to normal view but you can see what is there, print it off and redo
it as you see fit so that it can be seen.

We do get warned before importing that our files may be lost so we can't
really complain. The import facility is easy enough to just reload the
older version and print off a copy to re-enter if all else fails. I keep
older datafiles for that very purpose. That said I usually redesign my
armies regularly so starting from scratch is no great shakes. I do like
the unit options though and invariably recreate my preferred options
when then become obsolete with new datafiles.

Letting the Legion of the Damned have an Emperor's Champion is fair enough,
IMAO. From what I remember of the 'fluff', every chapter has one. There's a
Blood Angels emperor's champion, a Dark Angels emperor's champion,
presumably at one point there was a Fire Hawks emperor's champion as well.

I strongly apologize if this has been mentioned but I was just doing up a Dark Angles roster. Under Tactical Squads it allows you to take Apothecary, Standard bearers (all the stuff for HQ's). Probably has to do with the fact DA's don't really get Command Squads.

Just put them in,
it really subject to interpretation and if you want it you do
if you don't want it, just don't

This is due to the ability of the sm command units (chosen with detachment
commander) to be detached from the retinue and attached to individual
squads. This was a CA article in WD 230 (?).

Hope that helps,
Paul

By "All the stuff for HQ's", do you mean "Techmarines"? :)

This was an incompetent update that GW published in White Dwarf. Tactical
Squads, Assault Squads, etc., can attach an Apothecary or Techmarine from
the Command Squad.

DA do get command squads - just not the normal SM type.

Check out C:DA, page 7 for more details.
