A couple of the magic items in the Empire data files I downloaded
from here (WFB 6 version 2.2, dated 10/14/00) do not have points
values. One is the Sigil of Sigmar, the other is The Helm Of The
Skaven Slayer. Thanks

Should be available today (Saturday - Oct 21st) - I got my WD last night.

Thanks for the question.

I was wondering that since Games Workshop has released a Dogs of War army list (whire dwarf #250) for WH 6ed. Will you be creating a datafile for it and if so, when would it be available.
Thanks for taking the time to answer this question.

Subject: 2nd edition files

Okay, I had to split up the files as they would not export under the
same file (too long a text line in MS-DOS). You should be able to
download both files and import them both (no files are duped, so they
won't overwrite each other, just any old 2nd edition files). If
anybody knows how I can compress the export into one file, please let
me know.

As well as the new armies and units (Assassins and Inquisition are
not new armies, more like support add-ons, Grey Knights, etc.) there
have been several final bug fixes to the files.

Ork support weapons no longer display error messages for infinte
loops.
Marine weapons for ALL the chapters are now correct.
A couple of piece of wargear added (still official, just ones I
overlooked.).

Anyway, that's about it for now. It'll take a while for the next
file to get done, as the different chapters were all based off the
same general Marine file (so they was fast). I'm probably hitting
Eldar next, but anybody wants something else, give me a vote on it.

All comments about oversights appreciated, pleae let me know if
something's wrong! Have a good one.

I'm sorry, but this post doesn't provide me with enough information to have
any idea what you are having problems with. Please include the following
information:

1. What are you trying to accomplish? Do *NOT* assume that we have ANY idea
about how something should work. You need to explain it so we can
understand it.

2. What are you actually doing? Outline the salient facets of the units,
options, and anything else that might be involved in this problem.

3. What behavior are you seeing? Identify what you think SHOULD be
happening and what actually IS happening.

With the above three pieces of information, there are numerous people on
this list that can offer useful ideas and suggestions. But you have to
provide us with enough information to be able to do so. :-)

Thanks, Rob

If you are using Netscape and the files have a ".ab" extension, then this
problem is due to Netscape's stupidity. Please right-click on the download
link and then select "Save Target As" from the menu. This will enable you
to save the files properly.

Thanks, Rob

How about using wildcards on the command line? For example, if the file
extension for the game system is ".foo", then simply specify "abexport
-cfoo.ab *.foo". That ought to be all you need. :-)

If this isn't the problem you're running into, please provide further
explanation. I'll do my best to offer suggestions about how to remedy the
situation. You should be able to create export files with dozens of data
files without any problems (I regularly do that and so do others). :-)

Thanks, Rob

Please turn your caps lock off :)

Try saving them by right-clicking and choosing 'save as', this will
curtail your browsers stupidity. They should work after that.

Subject: Re: Version 2.4 WFB Error

Sorry everyone - especially all those that downloaded ver 2.4 of
Dave Gilbert's and my files. The screwup was mine - we are currently working on a draft file for the O&G based on information in WD250 and from the mailing list. I took it out of my directory because it really isn't ready to release but files in the core file have
already been changed to refer to that file so...in the new files I just uploaded, the draft O&G file is included - NOTE, again it is DRAFT and doesn't necessarily follow the Armybook fully since we don't have it yet.

I haven't got the Empire parsing error to show up on my computer but in the ones people have reported it seems that some junk had been added to the end of validation check (everything after emmsg3). If you get it (and have construction kit) go into the em file, select the empire race go into the lower box on the right of the screen - find the command doing the parsing error and remove the garbage from it. What browser are you using to download it? Version 2.0b should have fixed the Netscape problem with *.ab files. Think I will have to go back to .zip.

"bombs" as in crashes, or says "Error in datafiles"?

Write a batch file... just put the extended command line into a text
file and rename it as somethingorother.bat. That way you'll be able to
rebuild them with a double-click :)

Voidhammer, would you mind uploading your files to the ab-files egroup
as well, or at least giving me permission to do it if you don't want to
do it yourself?
