Subject: HELP!
I have tried three times now to download the latest 40k files from the
eGroups site. The file is listed as an .ab file, but when it downloads
to my machine it comes up as an .exe file. This file will not run (I
thought maybe it was self-extracting) nor will Armybuilder see it to
make the changes. My questions are thus:
1) What is my machine doing wrong and what can I do about it?
2) What am I doing wrong?
3) Is the file wrong?
4) Why did I not have this problem when the files were zipped?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sean C. Frolich

Something seems to have imbeciled it up quite badly.
To download the file, right-click on it and choose "save target as".
Then make sure the filename it specifies is "something.ab" as opposed to
"something.exe". Has that worked?

Subject: Dark Eldar & Raiders
Hi all - Love the new files and all that but as I was perusing the
new Dark Eldar Night Shields and Screaming Jet vehicle upgrades I
thought that they could be worded slightly better. The following is
what I have changed them to.
Night Shields
The vehicle counts as being 6" further away than it actually is for
all purposes (sight, range, etc.), including Rapid Fire. The shield
has no effect on template ordnance or barrage weapons.
Screaming Jets
A vehicle fitted with Screaming Jets can Deep Strike if the scenario
normally allows Deep Strike to be used. The vehicle counts as moving
over 6" on the turn it arrives and troops on board may not disembark
that turn.
If it's not too much trouble is there any chance of these being
included in the next version?
Regards Bri

The files should be correct. The ".ab" file extension must not be properly
registered with Windows on your system for this to occur. Most likely, this
means that you have not upgraded to V2.0 yet, since V2.0 properly performs
this for you during the installation. Once you upgrade to V2.0 (which
you'll need for the 40K files), the ".ab" file extension will be recognized
and properly retained. Otherwise, IE and possibly other browsers will
change the name automatically, whether or not you ask it to do so. The
".zip" file extension is already properly recognized, so that's why ".zip"
files don't have any problems.
Hope this helps,
Rob
