Do you mean that is fixed in the version 2 datafile? Cause I
downloaded the file of your site yesterday and the problem still
exists in that one.

I fixed it, but it wasn't released because I deleted the files by

them.

It's a bug with the Windows combobox, apparently.

Hi Colen,
just thought I'd notify you of a few errors I found in the alpha files
relating to Orks (what else). Just when you thought it was safe to take
a well earned rest. You may have already corrected these prior to
downloading to AB-files.
The augmentation of the orTrukkin the kult of speed army requires the
take
rGrotRg-perm to have the -race=ks added otherwise it appears in a
normal ork army.
The wartrukk option doesn't allow the selection of the bog shoota or
rokkit launcha, I "fixed" it by deleting the rmdr local attribute in the
unit orTrukk adding in an external attribute
must:categ=HevyWeapon@min=1-msg=1Heavy and altering the option orBigShN
by setting rang:0-1 and deleting dsab so the option was no longer greyed
out to the user. Not perfect but it works
Why the rmdr doesn't work
as set up seems strange but I didn't know enough to get it working.
I noticed that in characters you can select 2 1 handed weapons and then
a 2 handed weapon and no conflict is reported, but it works properly if
you select the 2 handed weapon first.
I added an external attribute must:categ=2HandWeap+1HandWeap@max=2 so
that a conflict is reported if select 2 1 handed weapons and then a 2
handed weapon.
In the items section I amended the ityp:+OrkVehicle to
itst:type=OrkVehicle and itst:type=OrkVehicle|type=OrkKan as appropriate
since AB now says ityp is redundant
I amended the spikes entry to itst:type=OrkVehicle&|reg=orTrukk just for
the fun of it
I haven't looked at much else but I'll let you know if I find any other
matters for your attention.
Cheers
Grotfang, not so humble ork warlord.

They should be in the usual places, in fact, no, they ARE in the usual
places. If you can't find them there, try a shift-refresh.

It's because it says "no heavy weapons, so add one" but then conflict
groups cause the other to be deselected. I forgot to remove the '1Hv'
conflict from the orBigShN option.
>I noticed that in characters you can select 2 1 handed weapons and then
>a 2 handed weapon and no conflict is reported, but it works properly if
>you select the 2 handed weapon first.
The way AB handles conflict groups was changed slightly, and has stopped
this working. In teknikal terms, because one conflict group implies
another now does not mean that the second conflict group also implies
the first - i.e., even if you have two one-handed weapons, it doesn't
imply that a two-handed weapon has also been selected. I'm fixing this
by making all two-handed weapons members of the 1HW *and* 2HW conflict
groups, as opposed to just the 2HW group.
>In the items section I amended the ityp:+OrkVehicle to

It's redundant, yes, but there's no reason to change them all. You don't
go out and buy all your software again just because you upgrade to
Windows 2000, do you?

Well, I am at www.freek-inc.com/skrills/abfiles. I got there through
skrill.org and it's telling me that I need the latest verson-1.4d,
but I downloaded it anyway. When I imported it, the ab description
said 'for v.1.4d'. And, there weren't codex: armageddon files in
it. So, I'm guessing that it's from 1.4d. Am I at the wrong page or
something? Can you give me a specific URL to go to?

You didn't. I've decided not to announce the new files at all until
after I get Beta Pattern finished, because if I do I'll get 7 million
emails saying "Why do all Ork vehicles have to take Grot Riggers?"
I suppose if I took a slightly more professional attitude to them and
tested them at all, this wouldn't happen

Yeas, but half of the fun of a new release is finding the bugs, why
deprive us of our pleasure
Anyway it gives me an excuse to load up
Abcreate and see if I can come up with a temporary fix until you come up
with a proper solution! How else am I going to learn about the new
features in V2 without poring over your data files. Lets face it Colen,
you are currently the grand master of data files, anything you can do I
can only follow

I wondered how you did that in a data file, I couldn't find the
explanation in the documentation hence fudged a solution using ABCreate.
I did mess around with the datadef file for the fun of it but couldn't
get it right, I added 2HW to the 1HW as a conflict with the effect that
selecting a 1HW promptly greyed out the 2HW's. I'll have to go read some
more

Hello everyone,
I'm new to AB, just been waiting for the 2.0 cd, and the program is
great. And Colen, thanks for your time and effort in building the
data files...without them, purchasing AB would not have been likely,
especially since I don't have a clue about programming in it...yet.
Anyways, I was building a Space Marine list and noticed that the
scout squad sergeant can't take a sniper rifle. Can you fix it when
you are fixing the ork stuff too.
Greatly Appreciative,
Kevin

The Scout Seargent can't take a sniper rifle. This has been done to death
about 4 times in this list!

Greatly Appreciative,
Kevin
PS-Rob...terriffic program...I'm telling everyone!

Do you mean that is fixed in the version 2 datafile? Cause I

I fixed it, but it wasn't released because I deleted the files by

It's a bug with the Windows combobox, apparently.

I know, I meant to restrict it to kult of speed only but did something

Hi Colen,
just thought I'd notify you of a few errors I found in the alpha files
relating to Orks (what else). Just when you thought it was safe to take
a well earned rest. You may have already corrected these prior to
downloading to AB-files.
The augmentation of the orTrukkin the kult of speed army requires the
take

normal ork army.
The wartrukk option doesn't allow the selection of the bog shoota or
rokkit launcha, I "fixed" it by deleting the rmdr local attribute in the
unit orTrukk adding in an external attribute
must:categ=HevyWeapon@min=1-msg=1Heavy and altering the option orBigShN
by setting rang:0-1 and deleting dsab so the option was no longer greyed
out to the user. Not perfect but it works

as set up seems strange but I didn't know enough to get it working.
I noticed that in characters you can select 2 1 handed weapons and then
a 2 handed weapon and no conflict is reported, but it works properly if
you select the 2 handed weapon first.
I added an external attribute must:categ=2HandWeap+1HandWeap@max=2 so
that a conflict is reported if select 2 1 handed weapons and then a 2
handed weapon.
In the items section I amended the ityp:+OrkVehicle to
itst:type=OrkVehicle and itst:type=OrkVehicle|type=OrkKan as appropriate
since AB now says ityp is redundant

I amended the spikes entry to itst:type=OrkVehicle&|reg=orTrukk just for
the fun of it

I haven't looked at much else but I'll let you know if I find any other
matters for your attention.
Cheers
Grotfang, not so humble ork warlord.

It's because it says "no heavy weapons, so add one" but then conflict
groups cause the other to be deselected. I forgot to remove the '1Hv'
conflict from the orBigShN option.
>I noticed that in characters you can select 2 1 handed weapons and then

>you select the 2 handed weapon first.

Abcreate and see if I can come up with a temporary fix until you come up
with a proper solution! How else am I going to learn about the new
features in V2 without poring over your data files. Lets face it Colen,
you are currently the grand master of data files, anything you can do I
can only follow

Cheers

I wondered how you did that in a data file, I couldn't find the
explanation in the documentation hence fudged a solution using ABCreate.
I did mess around with the datadef file for the fun of it but couldn't
get it right, I added 2HW to the 1HW as a conflict with the effect that
selecting a 1HW promptly greyed out the 2HW's. I'll have to go read some
more

>
>>In the items section I amended the ityp:+OrkVehicle to
>>itst:type=OrkVehicle and itst:type=OrkVehicle|type=OrkKan as appropriate
>>since AB now says ityp is redundant

>It's redundant, yes, but there's no reason to change them all. You don't
>go out and buy all your software again just because you upgrade to
>Windows 2000, do you?

You don't? Damn I knew I was going wrong somewhere. It was fun trying
them out, after all you've done just about everything else and I find
it's the best way to learn

Cheers
Grotfang, not so humble ork warlord.

Just thought you'd like to know that there is no mention of either
the vows, nor the 'Righteous Zeal' rule in the Black Templar roster.
I was just a little curious about that..

Greatly Appreciative,
Kevin
PS-Rob...terriffic program...I'm telling everyone!

I'm sure Colen would have put this in the FAQ for the WH40k files.
The Scout Seargent can't take a sniper rifle. This has been done to death
about 4 times in this list!
Russell.
