Gotta do it through the website. I tried to register mine through the link in the program and it kept telling me the page wasn't available. Went to the website and ordered it there and had it up and running in 5 minutes

As much as I like the idea of downloading software and registering
it, which is what I did for the previous version several years back,
I'm going to opt for the CD version.

It seems to me that the portability of the CD and attendant data
disks and upgrades simply is the best solution for the needs of
Army Builder. This is particularly prevalent when you are
participating in tournaments and don't have access to your
computer but need to make quick changes to your armylist.
Invariably, a computer can be found nearly everywhere now,
whether it's a friend with a laptop (which was the case for me in
Chicago for the GT in may) or there will be a local copy center
which has computers to use. Perhaps you even managed to borrow
a laptop to bring with you. Or perhaps you are gaming at your
friend's place and decide to change your list. The CD is just so
convenient, in that regard. Then there are the issues with
reinstalling your operating system, etc. and as good as Rob's
response time is, sometimes it is a hassle. Though Rob has never
steered me wrong, I've been biting my nails once or twice hoping
he gets to me in time.

It may cost me a few dollars more, but that investment is
worthwhile, I think. I'll probably pick up mine in a few weeks.

Cheers, Rob. I do love the program. I can't wait to see the new
version.

Nick
I have just two words for you - Orbital Bombardment!

*IF* you already have the CD version properly installed on a computer, then
upgrading to V2 will automatically recognize the CD. Just install it and
you're ready to go.

However, if you install V2 first and have the V1 CD, the CD will not be
found automatically. AB needs to be instructed that the CD is present, else
it doesn't know to go check for it. For the V1 CDs, this means that you
need to install the V1 CD *FIRST* on a computer and THEN install V2.

If for some reason the CD is not found on your computer with the V1 CD, the
solution is two steps. Install V1 manually from the CD by running the file
"abldr14?.exe" on the CD. You can use Windows Explorer to do this - just
double-click on the file to launch it. This will cause AB to know about the
CD. Then install V2 over it. There is no need to uninstall anything.

The above should be mentioned in the FAQ within the product. I haven't got
that page up onto the web-site yet - sorry. I'll make it more prominent on
the site.

Thanks, Rob

So, when can we expect to see them popping up in stores? Were they

All the major distributors received them LAST week. So they should be
arriving in stores this coming week.

I personally have the CD version, and I didn't have this problem. Are
you sure you waited enough time for the CD to spin up?

First , Thank you for all the hard work! BRAVO!

Hmmm. I never actually THOUGHT of that one. :-(

If you bought the CD from the web-site, then we will have your information
on file and can sort something out for you. If you bought it at your local
retailer, then I'm not sure how to proceed. Since you are able to work fine
for the moment with the V1.4 CD and the download, I'm going to have to
defer coming up with a solution on this one. I still have to get the
web-site finished, I have a huge backlog of support emails, and I also have
to get ready for GenCon in a few days. After I return from GenCon, I will
come up with some ideas to handle this situation. In the meantime, I hope
you can be content with using the new version as a download with the old
CD. :-)

Please contact me directly about this again after the 20th of this month
(rob@wolflair.com). I will hopefully have a solution for this in place by then.

Thanks for your patience,
Rob

You may want to wait on that. Word is that the Ravening Hoarde stuff that
went out in the USA is filled with erros. It evidently went out before they
edited the information--which is why USA got it before rest of the world. So
if someone is doing RH files better hope they are usin a UK version.

Noooo. Come on. Say it aint so. GW didn't edit or proof read something before they sent it to the printers?. I thought the UK got theirs first. I heard about if for at least 1 week before we got it in Canada.
