Ooop... Bloodbowl, thats me.

According to the Bloodbowl compendium, Norse can't take ogres, or any
allies for that matter. Unfortunately, the list printed in BB
Compendium2 tells us very little, hence they can't take wizards
either.

There may be some updates on this in BB Comp.3 but I haven't got that
yet.

If anyone can show/send me something more official that says
otherwise
I'll include it in the next release (which will be for ABv2)

Unfortunately, there are sooo many "optional" rules, associated with
BB I have designed the files as close to "official" material as
possible. There are rules in the files that I wouldn't even allow as
a
BB Commissioner.

V2 files have been overhauled, and most things from BB Compendium 1 &
2 are in there. Should be out for release in a week or so.

Well I made my own data file for version 1.4 based on Tim
Huckleberry's codex (v2-21-00 or something like that).
It's available at:
http://home1.gte.net/web229bv/wh40k.htm

When I first posted it, I asked Colen if he would incorporate
it into his next release, but it didn't show up in v.Red.

Colen, are you there? Any plans to include the Adeptus
Mechanicus in your v.2 release?

From: "Joseph Prozinski" <prozinskij@yahoo.com>
Subject: Composition group attributes

Is there an attribute that can be used to set up a ratio between the
number of units in a composition group and the number of points in an
army. Here's the situation. I have eight different vehicals to choose
from in my army. They are all assigned to the vehicle composition
group. I can have one vehicle for each 750 points in the army.

I've found a way of doing it, but it's not so pretty. I found
the 'umax' attribute but that will only work for specific units, so
what I have done is this. I created a zero point unit named Union of
Man Vehicle and assigned it to the Vehicle compostion group. Then I
created eight different options for it, each one being one of the
vehicles you can select. I then put the 'umax:1@500' attribute in the
external attributes of the Union of Man Vehicle unit. Like I said it
works, but it's not pretty.

If there is an attribute that I've overlooked, please let me know.
Thanks.

From: Eric Landes <eric@landesfamily.com>
Subject: State of the DBM files

Here's where things stand with the DBM data files for the 2nd edition of
the army lists and AB 2.0:

The following armies are done:
New Kingdom Egyptian, Mountain Indian, Gallic, Alan, North-Western
American, Khwarizmian, Early Swiss, Later Swiss.

The following armies are in the debugging stage:
Later Carthaginian, Sassanid Persian, Dynastic Bedouin, Medieval German.

The following armies are implemented using only v1.4 techniques:
Later Macedonian, Commagene, Early German, Ancient British, Caledonian,
Burgundi or Limigantes, African Vandal, Estonian.

The following armies exist in a skeleton stage or only with troops eligible
as allies:
Early Armenian, Hellenistic Greek, Early Imperial Roman, Later Moorish,
Hunnic, Central Asian Turkish, Ghurid, Qara-Khitan, Feudal English,
Medieval French, Later Pre-Islamic Arab, Ancient Spanish, Dynastic Kurdish,
Kushan.

That only leaves 276 more armies to go... ;)

My goal is to have a release at the end of next week with at least 75% of
the above armies in it. I'll also be updating the reference document on
how to implement DBM armies.

All this information will be sitting on a web page that will be the
reference and collection point for all DBM AB files. It will also contain
a list of all armies, their race codes, state, date last updated, and the
email address of the person responsible for writing the file.

It's a lot of work for what's likely a small audience, but there's so many
armies that they MUST be organized, or all hell will break loose.

I don't know if you can do this in AB1... AB2 includes more advanced
composition group syntax, though, which should deal with this admirably.

You need to specifically turn it on... Some armies have, in the same
place as the Standard Mission, Battle: Attacker etc. bits, a "Campaign
Force Tracker" mode. If you haven't selected it, it sounds like you need
to reinstall the datafiles and / or Army Builder.

If it wasn't published in White Dwarf or the Citadel Journal, probably
not. I have enough to do coping with the official armies...

Hi Eric,

Once you've got all the guidelines up, I'd be happy to try my hand at the
armies I play (other than NKE which seems to be done), namely: Asiatic
Early Successor, Marian Roman and Teutonic Knights. Please keep me informed.

Cheers,
Phil

I recommend waiting for V2.0. It's a no-brainer in V2 to accomplish this,
and it will be out this weekend.

Thanks, Rob

I'm not sure if this makes it official, but it is posted on the
official GW UK site. I don't know how to make the file, but I have
the army list if anyone wants to make one.
